Dr. Castro retired from IBM in 1995 after a 27 year career as a Research Staff Member and a Research Manager. He then spent 9 years as an Associate Dean in the College of Science at San José State University, and developed partnerships with SJSU and the K-12 School Districts to improve Math and Science education in low income neighborhoods. He opened the STEM Workshop at the Joseph George Community in 2004 and has served as its Volunteer Director and is currently the Program Adviser. He has been on the Board since 2004 and lives in San José.
